Frequently Asked Questions

  • How Are you compensated?

We are a fee only investment advisor meaning the only compensation we receive is the asset based fee charged on the assets under management. We do not receive any commissions or other compensation from third party vendors.

  • How do you handle referrals?

Receiving a referral from a client is the best compliment we can receive so we are very careful in how we approach and handle them. We will ask for our client’s guidance as to how best approach the new prospect. We also adhere to a very strict privacy policy so it is important that all client information always remains confidential and nothing is shared about our relationship with the referring client.

  • Where do you custody assets?

Our clients currently custody their assets through TD Ameritrade but we have systems in place should you have a need to keep your assets with a different firm.

  • What is your fee schedule?

Each relationship is a little bit different requiring varying levels of service.  Please reach out to us directly if you are interested in speaking in more depth about what services may be appropriate for you or you would like to receive a copy of or firm brochure which outlines all details about the firm including the various fee options we offer.

  • Do you work with clients outside of New England?

While we are based in Boston, the technology solutions we have in place allow us to work with people throughout the country while still maintaining the same client experience.  Please reach out to us to make sure we are registered in your jurisdiction.

  • Do you sell insurance or annuities?

We do not sell any insurance products.  We provide unbiased fee-based advice and while this sometimes involves the recommendation to purchase insurance we think it is important to remain independent from this business.  We would be happy to provide you with referrals to other insurance providers but we do not receive additional compensation for these referrals.

  • How do I access my accounts online?

Go to the Clients section to access your accounts at TD Institutional or access our customized client portal.

  • How do I get started?

Give us a call or email us  to set up a confidential initial consultation.

If you have any additional questions please reach out to us directly.  We strive to be as transparent as possible so no question is too large or small.
